LFW Podiatry in Ilkley is celebrating after Specialist Podiatrist Amy Barrett won the prestigious Diabetic Foot Champion Award at the National Gait & Motion Awards.

Amy attended the awards on 9 October at the NEC Birmingham alongside Lynda Forbes-Wake, Director and Lead Podiatrist of LFW Podiatry, who was also nominated for the Community Award in recognition of her services to podiatry.

With over 15 years’ experience as an NHS Diabetes Specialist Podiatrist, Amy has dedicated her career to preventing diabetic foot complications, ulceration and potential limb loss.

Since joining LFW Podiatry 18 months ago, Amy has combined her extensive clinical expertise with advanced Footscan pressure analysis and Phits 3D-printed orthotic technology, helping to identify areas of excessive pressure and reduce the risk of diabetic foot complications.

Lynda, who nominated Amy for the award, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Amy has won this national award. She is an exceptionally knowledgeable, dedicated and compassionate podiatrist who genuinely makes a difference to people’s lives. Her commitment to diabetic foot care and preventing potentially life-changing complications is outstanding.

"To see her hard work recognised nationally is wonderful, and we are incredibly proud to have her as part of the LFW team.”

LFW Podiatry, established in 2015, is a multi-award-winning independent practice with clinics in Ilkley and Burley-in-Wharfedale. The practice provides a comprehensive range of podiatry services, from routine foot care and diabetic foot assessments to advanced biomechanics, orthotic therapy and nail surgery.
