Hartleys Ilkley to auction limited-edition Superman Returns sculpture to raise money for the NHS

Hartleys Auctions Ltd, the specialist Antique and Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers based in Ilkley are hosting an exclusive NHS COVID-19 charity auction, selling a limited-edition life-size sculpture of Superman. The online auction will take place on Wednesday, 6 May at 11am and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to NHS Charities Together for their COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
The rare 82” high statue, currently sporting a protective mask in a nod to the global pandemic, was created from the same model produced for the 2006 promotion of Superman Returns, and is an eight piece painted fibreglass construction. The item was kindly donated by Shane Swallow of Ossett Antiques and Valuables.

We have been inspired by so many examples of people doing what they can with what they have to support our frontline carers – and we have an auction house and a very large Superman statue!
