Top class soloist to perform with Ilkley Chamber Orchestra

Cellist, Kim Mackrell will be performing the Haydn Cello Concerto in C with the Ilkley Chamber Orchestra on Saturday 28th October at 7.30pm in All Saints’ Parish Church, Ilkley.

Kim, a former ‘cellist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Manchester, is now based in London. She performs regularly with the top orchestras in the capital including the London Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor, John Anderson, is thrilled to be working with Kim for the first time and said “the Haydn concerto was composed in 1765, but was presumed lost until musicologist Oldrich Pulkert discovered a copy of the score in the Prague National Museum …what an amazing discovery”!

Rameau’s Suite from his opera Les Indes Galantes (The Amorous Indies) - French Baroque music at its finest and Mozart’s sublime ‘Jupiter’ symphony complete this exciting programme.
