Travel agency celebrates new Ilkley branch with opening day
Independent travel agency Olive Lounge Travel has opened a new branch on Leeds Road in Ilkley and will celebrate with a special opening day on Friday 2 October.
The branch officially opened on 1 September and is led by Retail Operations Manager Aimi Donohue and Travel Consultant Darcey Milsted. The team offers everything from package holidays to bespoke trips, including flights, accommodation, transfers, car hire and rail travel.
The Ilkley opening marks another milestone for the independent business, which was established in 2015 by directors Gillian Polyhos and Elfie Higson. Starting from a home office in Silsden, Olive Lounge Travel has since expanded with branches in Cross Hills, Bingley and Skipton.
The company now has 14 employees, with a further three working remotely, and more than 100 years of combined travel experience. Its focus on personal service has helped build strong customer loyalty and earn national recognition, including being named Yorkshire’s Top Agency 2025 at the TTG UK Top 50 Awards.
Aimi Donohue said the warm welcome from the Ilkley community had been particularly encouraging: “Everyone has been so friendly and the business community has been incredibly supportive. It’s a fabulous location and we’re really enjoying being here.”
The new branch has been designed with Olive Lounge Travel’s distinctive boutique style, featuring a denim blue and orange colour scheme. Directors Gillian and Elfie personally oversee the interiors of each branch to create a welcoming, non-corporate atmosphere.
The Opening Day Celebration will run from 9.30am to 5pm on Friday 2 October 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to meet the team, enjoy refreshments and discover more about the travel services and bespoke holidays available.
