If you’re looking for fun, free activities for all the family, Ilkley BID has introduced two augmented reality trails to enjoy on their phones this spooky season in Ilkley town centre.
The first ‘Halloween Hunt’ trail, a joint initiative between the LoyalFree app and Ilkley BID, runs until the 31st October and invites participants to help Wanda the witch find her potion ingredients to help cast a enchantment to locate Wicca, her beloved cat,
You can help her collect these ingredients by scanning the QR codes at every location. There are 15 locations in total that take you across the town centre and participants will be entered into a free prize draw to win a £25 Ilkley Gift Card. The more QR codes scanned, the more chances of winning!
The second ‘Spooky Ilkley’ trail on Ilkley BID’s dedicated Discover Ilkley app takes you on a terror-ific trail to capture 7 virtual Augmented Reality monsters, ghouls and other creepy characters at ghostly locations across the town centre. Use the GPS animated map in the App to discover each one, if you dare.
Lisa Drake, Ilkley BID Project Coordinator says: “We are really excited to launch these two ‘fangtastic’ augmented reality trails in Ilkley, providing some entertaining free family fun this half term holiday. We know that children really enjoy these trails and we’re looking forward to seeing local residents and visitors enjoying these ‘spooktacular’ experiences and discovering previously unknown businesses while exploring the town.”
Taking part in both trails is easy!
