Velo2Velo Ilkley promises to be a great ride for all

Whether you’re a cycling club enthusiast or new to the world of cycling sportives, Velo2Velo Ilkley promises to be a great ride for all.

The event, which is organised by Attaque Cycling Events, is taking place on Sunday, April 5th, leaving from and returning to, well known local café, The Commute Cycle Café on Leeds Road, which is the event HQ.

The fully signed route has been carefully crafted to take in the quieter roads which offer great scenery and a rolling route, making it the perfect option for those taking on their first sportive, or for the more experienced cyclist who is preparing for longer rides later in the year.

Riders will also have the opportunity to take part in the King of the Mountain challenge, as towards the end of the route there is an optional test, the notorious Langbar climb! Riders who opt to tackle the climb have the chance to win a precision bike fit courtesy of All Terrain Cycles, who have kindly donated the prize.

And on finishing the 62km route, much welcomed coffee, cake and finishers medals will be provided on return to the Commute Cycle Café.

So, whether you are a beginner looking for the perfect excuse to get in the saddle or an experience cyclist looking for an early spring ride, Velo2Velo Ilkley is the perfect sportive to kick start 2020.

Entry is just £21 via British Cycling and includes post ride coffee & cake, finishers medals, fully signed route, gpx for download, safety car out on route and insurance via British Cycling
