Volunteer needed to help keep Ilkley Pride organised
Ilkley Pride & Diversity Group is looking for a volunteer to help keep things organised behind the scenes, with the role expected to take just two to three hours a month.
The group is looking for a volunteer Admin Assistant to help with some of the simple admin that keeps the group running smoothly. This includes preparing agendas for meetings, taking and circulating minutes, and making sure emails and enquiries are passed on to the appropriate member of the team.
It’s a small, flexible role that should take around two to three hours a month and can easily fit around work, family and other commitments. No previous experience is needed – just someone who is organised, reliable and happy to lend a hand.
Ilkley Pride & Diversity Group has grown into a busy part of the local community, with its work continuing throughout the year rather than just around Pride.
The group runs a programme of monthly social events, giving people the opportunity to meet others and get involved in everything from coffee and cake to walks and other activities. It also organises the annual Ilkley Pride celebration, works with local businesses and community organisations, and helps promote inclusion and make Ilkley a welcoming place for everyone.
A spokesperson for Ilkley Pride & Diversity Group said: “There’s plenty going on behind the scenes at Ilkley Pride throughout the year and having someone to help keep on top of the relatively simple admin makes a huge difference. We’re not looking for someone to take on a massive commitment – just someone who is organised, can spare a couple of hours a month and doesn’t mind writing the odd set of minutes!
It’s also a great way to get involved with the group if organising events isn’t necessarily your thing. There are lots of ways to contribute to what we do, and this is one of those roles that might not be particularly visible but makes everything else a little bit easier.”
