Wharfedale Piano Festival Masterclass and Repertoire events

The Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts is hosting two upcoming events focusing on an initiative to encourage public performance and the enjoyment of listening to live classical piano repertoire.

A Performance Masterclass and a Recital with Young British Concert Pianist, Yuanfan Yang, will be taking place at the King’s Hall and Winter Garden in Ilkley in March and April respectively.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “Our Piano Ambassador Yuanfan spent his early years at school in Leeds and was an entrant to local festivals in his early days of performing.

“He is giving generously of his time and artistry to inspire and enthral in his role as Ambassador to the Wharfedale Piano Festival.”

The Performance Masterclass on Sunday 12th March at 2pm will include:

· Performance and technique guidance to some of the recipients of the Dame Fanny Waterman Awards (2022)

· Piano Clinic and Q&A with audience members

· Demonstration on the art of improvisation

In the second event Yuanfan will be performing a recital of popular Piano Repertoire on Thursday 27th April from 7pm.

Tickets are free to young pianists and secondary school pupils . Please register for a place on the box office site here, where adult tickets may also be purchased.
