Major men’s singing festival is coming to Ilkley in June
Up to 150 men from across the UK will be heading to Ilkley to take part in the eight annual ‘BlokeFest’ singing festival. It will be the first time that this prestigious event is being held in the North.
Inspired by the outrageous, but wonderful, singing of the renowned The Spooky Men’s Chorale ‘BlokeFest Up North’ is an opportunity for men of any, or even no experience, of singing, to get together for a glorious weekend of harmonies and friendship. The singing workshops will be led by inspiring leaders, four of them, members of The Spooky Men’s Chorale who will be touring the UK after the festival.
Up to 150 men singing together makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up. For those who attended previous BlokeFest events the experience has been exhilarating; Paul from ‘Sing Your Rocks Off’ was heard to say, after his first visit, “It was one of the best experiences of my life”.
The event is being held at Ilkley Rugby Club, with free on-site camping for tents, camper vans or caravans and with full and exclusive use of all the club’s facilities. The singing and singing workshops will take place in a large big top tent and in the clubhouse. On Sunday there will be a closing lunchtime concert in the big top for friends, families and invited guests.
The event, over the weekend of the 21st to 23rd June is being hosted by Ilkley’s own all male singing group ‘Sing Your Rocks Off’ and is open to all men, regardless of their singing experience.
