The partnership between Bradford Council and the Nell Bank Queen's Silver Jubilee Centre Trust, which is responsible for the Nell Bank Centre, is due to change from April 2020.

A flood warning has been issued due to quickly rising river levels in response to rainfall on Friday (21/02/20). The current river level at Ilkley is 2.42m (23:30) and is expected to peak at a level of 3.3m between 4am and 5am on Saturday (22/02/20). Areas of concern are properties around Denton Road, Middleton Avenue and the Cricket, Football and Rugby Grounds, the sewage works and Denton Bridge. 

Booths in Ilkley makes a guest star appearance in the popular Northern drama written by Sally Wainwright, Last Tango in Halifax, which airs on BBC1 Sunday 23 of February.

At a Ilkley Town Meeting on Thursday night, Yorkshire Water announced that rather than waiting 10 years to sort out the problem of excessive sewage discharges into the river, as set out by the Environment Agency; they will bring the investigation and solution finding through to this year with subsequent investment in cleaning up the water in Ilkley.

Ilkley Fairtrade Group is getting ready for Fairtrade Fortnight, which this year runs from Monday 24 February to Sunday 8 March with the main activity being a town-wide quiz with a prize of delicious and ethical Fairtrade chocolate bars.

Sports pitches remain closed

Bradford Council have said that all council sports pitches will remain closed this weekend (Saturday, February 22 & Sunday 23) as more rain is forecast to fall onto the already waterlogged ground.

A council spokesperson said: 'We are sorry for the inconvenience but allowing sporting fixtures to take place with the ground in this condition would result in serious damage to the turf.'
