All In One Recycling and Alternate Week General Waste Collection

From 28 February 2017 Bradford Council residents in Addingham, Ilkley, Ben Rhydding, Burley in Wharfedale and Menston** can stop separating recyclable items and can put more items in your recycling bin.

Also, from April your general waste bin won't be collected weekly, the Council will be changing to alternate week bin collections. Your general waste (green) bin will be emptied one week and your recycling bin will be emptied the following week. Your collection day will be the same day for both bins but emptied on alternate weeks, further details to follow.

After 28 February all recyclable items can now go in one bin, either grey bin or grey bin with blue lid, there will be no need to separate your recycling and you can now also recycle plastic food trays, yoghurt pots, margarine/butter tubs, drinks cartons and TetraPaks.

Remember

  • Put your bins out by 6.30am on the collection day, make sure access is clear, if not your bin may not be emptied

  • Householders must put the right thing in the right bin, contaminated bins will not be emptied

  • Bins should have the lid closed with no waste at the side

  • We will only empty one general waste bin per household

  • You can have more than one recycling bin

  • Please rinse out glass and cans.

If you use and want to keep your bin insert for transferring your recycling from the house to your bin please do not leave it in your recycling bin. After 28 February any inserts put out with your bin will be removed.
