Call for CCTV cameras in Ilkley, have your say

Following vandalism to vehicles parked in Ilkley's South Hawsworth car park last weekend which was reported on Ilkley Chat, Councillor Anne Hawkesworth is spearheading a campaign for installation of security cameras in Ilkley.

"It seems the town is in a better place to have these introduced," Cllr Hawkesworth said. "Seemingly one of the benefits of the 'Tour' was improved and boosted infrastructure to the receivers within the valley. I am pulling together the funding facts and figures and hope there will be a satisfactory groundswell to support us moving forward."

PC Sam Hollings, Ilkley's Early Intervention and Prevention Officer with West Yorkshire Police, is asking the residents and business owners to complete a short survey giving their thoughts on CCTV via www.surveymonkey.com/r/NX2XK3S
