Ilkley church to host Christmas Day lunch for those alone

For the past 3 years, Ilkley Baptist Church on Kings Road have hosted the Churches Together Ilkley Christmas Day Lunch for those who ‘for one reason or another’ wouldn’t normally bother.

​

Their idea is that if you are alone on Christmas Day, or unable to cook, or can’t afford the expense of a traditional Christmas meal, you can join them and enjoy the food and fellowship.

​

A spokesperson for the church said: ‘Christmas should be a time of sharing with family and friends. We are just friends you haven’t met yet!’

​

The meal is open to all, starts at 1pm, and you do not have to be a Christian to attend. There is no cost for the meal, but they are limited to 20 persons, so you need to let them know if you would like to attend.
