Ilkley pizza team support Macmillan
Staff from Pizza Express in Ilkley completed the 3 peaks challenge recently and in total have raised £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support – more than any other the company’s 607 restaurants!
Tom from the Ilkley restaurant told Ilkley Chat ‘Despite the weather originally being challenging the team completed the 3 peaks challenge, mostly in-tact! Inspired by Ilkley’s spirit we were joined by our Area Manager Matt Holwell.’
‘The walk took us about 11 hours and was certainly more challenging than we anticipated and practiced for, but the team showed great resilience in persevering for such a good cause.’
Not content with just the mighty 3 peaks walk, the next two Saturdays following the team took part in a static cycle ride – pedalling over 100 miles each day. The whole team joined in with this and the generosity of the people of Ilkley really paid off!
Tom added ‘this is an achievement that we are incredibly proud of here in Ilkley, £3,000 not too bad for a small Yorkshire town!’
