Ilkley pub’s festive fund-raising

 

Ilkley venue, The Yard has nominated ‘Outside the Box’ as it’s Christmas Charity this year and will host a month-long series of events and activities to raise money for the popular, Ilkley Community Enterprise and Café.

Kick-started with a ‘Christmas Charity Music Weekender’ Saturday 14th December, where popular band ‘Remember Hillards’ will be playing their 80’s classics and Joe Doonan will play live and acoustic on Sunday 15th. During that weekend the venue will donate £2 from sales of their Christmas Cocktail ‘Christmas Cake Martini’, as well as £1.50 from every Mulled Cider, and £1 from every ‘Rocking Rudolph’ beer, double the amounts donated from the drinks throughout the rest of the month.

There will be several other initiatives taking place during December. These include encouraging attendees of their annual ‘Christmas Jumper party’ on 21st December, who don’t wear a Christmas jumper, to purchase a festive hat and make a donation in the process. As well as a Christmas raffle that will run throughout the month with prizes that include a £200 voucher to spend at The Kings Head, Kettlewell, a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne and a meal for two up for grabs.

Jenna Peel from Outside the Box said: "We are very happy to be chosen as the Yard's charity of choice for their fundraising efforts this Christmas. We are grateful for the local support at Outside the Box, and the money raised will go towards supporting our many services working with adults with learning disabilities"

Ali Allawa from The Yard said “Our festive entertainment always goes down well and this year we thought if we could include a local charity into the proceedings, they could benefit also. We’ve worked with ‘Outside the Box’ previously which is such a fantastic local community enterprise and look forward to doing so again over Christmas”

The Yard have their 12 Days of Christmas entertainment on from 18th to 31st December which includes: the finals of their shuffleboard competition, DJ’s, live music and parties galore!
