PIZZAEXPRESS IN ILKLEY RECEIVES STYLISH MAKEOVER

PizzaExpress in Ilkley has just reopened with a stylish new look. The revamped restaurant, which draws heavy inspiration from the neighbouring train station and nearby beautiful countryside, has a new colour scheme, smart new banquette and settle seating, pendant lighting and oak flooring.

Artwork throughout the restaurant celebrates Ilkley train station’s past, with vintage railway posters, and giant train tickets featuring cut out silhouettes of carriages and people. There are also photographs and contemporary illustrations portraying Ilkley’s magnificent moorland scenery.

And to complete the restaurant’s transformation, just in time for the summer, the outside has new seating, planters and windbreaks.

Restaurant Manager Eva Vapenikova comments: “We are incredibly excited to be relaunching our newly renovated restaurant in Ilkley and can’t wait to invite new guests and regulars inside to see the changes.”

Among new dishes just introduced for summer is the Pollo Milanese, which boasts a succulent warm breaded whole chicken breast, shaved Gran Milano cheese and sumptuous roasted tomatoes. There’s also a Summer Tiramisu, with luxurious layers of ladyfingers and mascarpone cream, soaked in Vin Santo wine and sweet strawberry puree, topped off with strawberries and cream.

New on the Piccolo menu for children is the Pollo Salad, which includes a generous portion of torn chicken, red and yellow peppers and light mozzarella; served with a choice of either polenta chips or Dough Balls.

And vegan and dairy-free guests are now able to have some of their favourite pizzas their way across the menu, with the addition of a vegan mozzarella option.

Three of the Spring Specials items will stay on the menu for summer: the succulent Zapparolli Romana, with its delicious chicken and creamed corn base, the Cod Crochette; and gluten-free Seafood Rigatoni.
