Ben Rhydding Croquet Club wrapped up a week of scorching sunshine and spirited competition, crowning champions across four splendid club trophies.

The week saw club members, including several newcomers affectionately known as “the Rabbits,” push through extreme heat to deliver high-caliber croquet. The new players competed for the Rabbits Trophy, which was won by Mike Green.

Eileen Magee remained cool and collected to win the Richard Lorimar Shield for club singles champion. She also partnered Colin Hopkinson a skilled and able partner, both winning the Cynthia Barraclough Cup for handicap doubles play.

The Trevor Grange Handicap Shield was the last game of the week and was won by club captain Penny Clark, who commented how participants were 'hot and tired' after a week of 'competitive and good humoured play', and were rewarded with Pimm’s and canapes.
