Booths is building on its long-term partnership with Rafi’s Spicebox, a heritage brand specialising in recreating home-cooked Indian food, and the joint venture will see the introduction of a new concession stand within Booths’ Ilkley store.
This follows the success of Rafis Spicebox concessions already launched in Booths Burscough, Knutsford and Fulwood stores.
Booths customers will be able to choose from over 50 spice recipes which are hand-blended in store and can be tailored to their desired heat strength and taste preferences, perfect for creating authentic Indian dishes and flavour combinations at home.
Store Manager at Booths Ilkley, Rachel Costello, said:
“We are delighted to be introducing a concession of this kind within our Booths Ilkley store, and we’re really excited to be working with Rafi’s. Our customers will be able to hand-create their own perfect spice blend with the help and expertise of the Rafi’s team - a service that extends beyond that of a normal visit to a deli or supermarket.
With a passion for introducing everyone to the fascinating world of spices and Indian cookery, the team have a wealth of knowledge to share with our customers which we hope will leave them feeling inspired to try something new, and we’re hopeful that the Rafi’s Spicebox concession will create a more dynamic shopping experience.’’
Kevin Fernandez, director of Rafi’s Spicebox, added:
“To this day, we are trying to reinvent Indian food, introducing new ways of thinking and inspiring people to cook delicious, healthy Indian food at home.
I am thrilled to be taking this next step in our journey with Booths- we’re real foodies and can’t wait to share our passion for honest, hand-made healthy food with Booths customers.
Not only can we help them choose the perfect spice blend, but we can guarantee that we will bring a fresh approach to creating curries from scratch at home. The recipes we share are ones which we cook at home for our families, week in week out. It’s everyday food that everyone can make.”
In addition to stocking a selection of premium brands from soft, doughy naan breads to tangy and tasty pickles and chutneys, we will also inform customers on how they can introduce seasonal produce into their dishes, or even help with recommending the best meat or fish for a truly flavoursome combination.’’
The concession stand will launch in store on the 24th September and customers will benefit from meal planning recommendations, regular in-store tasters, exclusive cooking demonstrations and recipe inspiration online and through seasonal recipe cards.
