A Christmas Open Day at Ilkley's King’s Hall & Winter Garden last month was well attended and raised £670 for two local good causes.
Following the successful event on Sunday 10 December, organisers would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for making it an enjoyable, festive and fun day.
“Thanks to our wonderful Town Cryer, Isabel Ashman, who gave a fabulous ‘cry’ to open the day and welcome everyone.
“For our fantastic entertainment we would like to thank the three choirs, who gave their time to perform free of charge, on the King’s Hall stage: Voices of Yorkshire, Ilkley All Saints Primary School Choir and Steeton Male Voice Choir. Thanks also to Alex Cockshott for her informative behind the scenes tours.
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of all those who volunteered their time and businesses who donated raffle prizes, which raised £670 to be shared 50/50 between LS29 Special Needs Support Group and Ilkley & District Good Neighbours.
“Thank you to the Friends of the King’s Hall who provided mulled wine, mince pies and selection boxes for the ‘elf on the shelf’ activity, in which over 100 children who took part. We would also like to thank The Loafer Bakery in Ilkley for providing 100 Christmas Tree biscuits for the many children who enjoyed finding the mischievous elves hiding around the venue.
“Finally, our thanks go to Rombalds Radio, Ilkley Chat and Bradford Theatres for promoting our event.
“The Open Day was a great opportunity for visitors to view our wonderful venue and discover all that it offers for functions, parties, formal dinner dances, awards ceremonies and weddings, alongside traditional theatre shows and events.”
