Ilkley Town Council is inviting residents of Ilkley to roll up their sleeves and join a community Day of Action to help collect fallen leaves from our pavements and footpaths.
The community event will take place at various locations around Ilkley and Ben Rhydding on Wednesday 26th November from 10.00am
A spokesperson for Ilkley Town Council said:
"The responsibility for clearing leaves from our roads and pavements sits with Bradford Council, and whilst the BMDC leaf sweepers are attending fairly frequently at the moment, it’s a big job and we can definitely help.
"By coming together as a community, we can help make Ilkley’s streets cleaner, safer, and more pleasant for everyone — especially for those who may find walking on leaf-covered pavements difficult.
"Please bring gloves, brushes, or leaf rakes if you have them. All residents are welcome to join in and stay for as long as they can. Together, let’s show what community spirit can achieve!"
The clearing will start at 10am from three locations:
Crossbeck Road
Grove Road/ St James’ Road
Ben Rhydding Station
