Cookery demos announced for Ilkley Food and Drink Festival

Yorkshire’s best chefs will be showcasing their talents at Ilkley’s riverside festival on 12 -13 June, in partnership with Leeds Cookery School

The highly anticipated Live Cookery Theatre will be returning to Ilkley after a hugely successful response in previous years, with established chefs from the region taking to the stage to showcase their culinary talents, sharing hints, tips and advice on how to spice up your cooking.

The diverse line-up boasts up to 5 demonstrations a day, featuring guest appearances from renowned culinary experts such as MasterChef UK Semi-Finalist Anthony O’Saughnessy, who has a passion for creating unique international dishes, and Ilkley's Loc Bui, who specializes in traditional Vietnamese cuisine. With alternative approaches to cooking in every session, the performances promise something for both novice and expert attendees to take away.

“We are very fortunate to have Leeds Cookery School with us; the talent they produce and chefs they bring forward to the festivals are second to none, we see that shine through their incredible demonstrations every year. The theatre gives our food loving attendees the perfect opportunity to be immersed in the experience, and gives an insight into how to create amazing dishes at home.” – Michael Johnston, Festival Director.

Thousands of food lovers are expected to attend the riverside festival on 12-13 June, with an expanded Artisan Market, Entertainers & Street Performers, Kids Activities, Wellbeing Activities, and a variety of live jazz, pop and acoustic Music from local artists.

The festival will once again run additional activities throughout the festival to raise funds and awareness for charity Mind in Bradford, having raised over £18,125 over the past four years for local mental health charities.
