Emergency warm clothes appeal

The drop off point in Ilkley is at The King's Hall and Winter Garden.

Circumstances have changed for many due to the high levels of redundancies and furlough that have been brought on by the pandemic. With temperatures during this lockdown frequently dropping below zero, some families are finding themselves in a difficult financial situation unable to heat their homes. Simply put, an estimated 21,000 children are learning remotely, are bitterly cold and unable to concentrate on their school work.

In response, businesses and individuals across our district are supporting the No Child Cold Campaign and helping to contribute towards the cost of heating. Community Action Bradford & District are now urgently asking for donations of hats, scarves, jumpers, warm socks and blankets to try and help children feel more comfortable whilst they learn at home.

Are you able to donate items to children across the district and help them concentrate at home?

"We politely ask that donations are new in packaging or nearly new and freshly washed before packing into plastic bags and that each donation is labelled with the age of the child and whether it is suitable for a boy, girl or both. Our team will then ensure that your donation reaches the children in need."
