The Holly Ball returned in December after a year break and raised even more than last time in 2019. The annual event held at the King’s Hall in Ilkley is organised by The Rotary Club of Ilkley and is one of the longest running charity events in the area.
Peter Settle from the ball committee said: “Firstly many thanks to all our guests for keeping faith with the event bearing in mind the development of the Omicron variant. The management committee have just about recovered from all our exertions on the run up to the ball and it was great to see the King’s Hall full of people having a good time.”
“It does take time before we get all our costs together, but we are now delighted to report that £8,500 was raised for Martin House Children’s Hospice and £1,100 for the Friends of the King’s Hall. These amounts are fantastic and well up on the last time we were able to run the event in 2019.”
The committee had a problem with the official photographer on the night, so are asking any guests with photos they are prepared to share to email ilkleyhollyball@gmail.com or message via the ‘The Rotary Club of Ilkley Charity Holly Ball’ Facebook page.
Peter added: “To our loyal customers, your opinion matters to us, please let us know how we can improve your experience in future years, we would love to hear from you.”
“Finally, all the committee hope you all had a very happy Christmas and every possible good wish for a healthy, safe and prosperous 2022”
