The craft beer and bottle shop on Leeds Road, which announced its closure last month, has been saved by Horsforth Brewery.

Fuggle & Golding was due to closed at the end of February until the Leeds based brewery stepped in and saved it, announcing the news last week on Facebook:

"When we saw they [Fuggle & Golding] were going to close we were determined to not lose another great venue from the local beer scene. We owe a massive thank you to George and the landlord for getting a deal across the line in quick order."

The new owners have put their stamp on the tap house and shop, giving it a good clean, fresh lick of paint, refresh tables, new comfy seats and more before re-opening last Thursday.

Horsforth Brewery was founded by Mark Costello in 2017, its other site is on New Road Side in Horsforth.

Posting on social media over the weekend, they said:

"Never heard of us? Never tried our beers? Perfect. We’ll have a couple pouring on draught, and we’ve put together a special opening weekend box deal, four Horsforth Brewery cans to take home and enjoy whenever (and wherever) you fancy."

The Facebook post went on to say that the brewery is 'doing this solo, with no outside interests, investors, or loans'.
