Ilkley Busking Festival “an outrageous success”

Ilkley’s first ever Busting Festival took place on Saturday 3rd May and the verdict of one resident is the event was “an outrageous success”.

Organised by Ilkley Live, it was a day of glorious sunshine, with dozens of performers flocking to Ilkley and filling the streets with a wonderful mixture of voices and instruments.

Passers-by were treated to a fabulous range of musical styles and melodies that were performed live throughout the day at designated busking spots around the town.

The festival organisers would like to thank everyone who performed or who came along to listen and enjoy the entertainment. Dan Hammond of Ilkley Live said:

“The busking festival was a wonderful example of community cohesion and celebration.

“We are hoping that this event really puts Ilkley on the map as a busking town and encourages more people to come and perform here all through the year.”
