Ilkley Chess Club is running a series of free taster events throughout summer outside at the Riverside Hotel on Bridge Lane.
The events are for new players, people coming back to the game and those who have only played online before, to try to get them involved in over the board chess.
A spokesperson for the club said: "We will be on the tables outside the Riverside Hotel on Wednesdays; June 26th, July 10th and 24th and August 7th and 21st. 7:30pm onwards.
"New and returning faces will be very welcome. Whatever your standard there should be someone to play."
