The trees are decorated and look stunning, music and entertainment is ready to roll, angelic angels are waiting to be crafted, refreshments smell and taste delicious, and the Christmas lights are about to be switched on.
All organisers need is the lovely people of Ilkley and surrounds to join them for the fabulous Ilkley Christmas Tree Festival on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December.
A spokesperson for the festival said: "A great way to start Christmas – we do hope you’ll come along and bring friends and family!
"Join us and 30 local charities and community groups each with their own beautifully decorated tree to make up a sparkling display at St Margaret’s, Queen’s Road, Ilkley on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December. This year we’re excited to announce that every primary school in Ilkley, Addingham and Ben Rhydding has decorated a tree – the children’s creations look amazing.
"On Friday 6 December musical treats include the choirs from Westville House School (11.30 am) Moorfield School Choir (2.00 pm), and Addingham Primary School (4.30pm). Steph and her sax play at 5.15 pm.
"On Saturday, come and support Outside the Box band (10.00 am) and the children’s Ukrainian Choir (11.15 am). Our Ukrainian friends will also be running the gingerbread decorating and angel making workshop from 12.00 pm – 1.30 pm. The Rock Choir performs at 2.00 pm followed by the Ilkley Singers (3.30 pm) and finishing off with St Margaret’s choir (4.30 pm). Come along to enjoy the stunning trees and music – and soak up the atmosphere with a cuppa and cake in beautiful St Margaret’s church. We even have Lishman’s sausage rolls to tempt you – not to be missed!"
Fr Alex Crawford, Vicar of St Margaret’s, adds, “We’re really looking forward to another Christmas Tree Festival in our beautiful church. We were overwhelmed last year with the wonderful support from so many visitors, and of course such creatively decorated trees. We have more of the same this year, along with live music and refreshments. And it’s wonderful to be joined by all our local primary schools. This year proceeds will support Martin House Children’s Hospice and their incredible work providing family-led hospice care free of charge for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses. We hope you’ll come and share some Christmas cheer with us.
"There is so much to enjoy over Ilkley’s Christmas Tree Festival weekend – we hope you will join us."
