Ilkley retailer Mint Velvet is holding a Swap Party on Wednesday 19 April, following the success of its previous two swap events in 2022.
A swap party is where you can exchange clothing or accessories that you no longer wear for someone else’s meaning that you can update your wardrobe with pre-loved treasures in an environmentally conscious way.
Tickets to the event are £5 each which includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival. All proceeds will go to the Wardrobe Foundation, a charity that provides clothing gift bags to women in need.
Between now and Wednesday, simply bring into store three to five items of pre-loved clothing items or accessories in great condition. The clothes will be steamed and hung on hangers and on the evening of the event all the donated items will be on display. Those who have brought in items to be swapped can browse the collection and take home with them up to the same number of clothing items they donated.
Claire Robinson, Manager of Mint Velvet in Ilkley said: “We’re really pleased to be holding our next Swap Party on Wednesday. Previous events have been a great success and it’s always lovely to see our guests take home some fabulous clothing items.
“It’s a shopping experience with a difference as people can have fun updating their wardrobe knowing that it’s for an important cause whilst encouraging the recycling of clothing items. This year we have planned the event to tie in with Earth Week 2023 with its call to invest in our planet for future generations.”
The Swap Party will be held between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 19th April at the shop premises on The Grove. Tickets are available by calling into the store or phoning 01943 603875 to reserve your place.
All attendees will receive a complimentary bottle of eco detergent and a seeded voucher.
