Ilkley's Pat's Party team have returned from their trip to refugee centres in Eastern Poland where they sought to bring humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian refugees there, and to those suffering untold hardship within their own country.
Thanks to the kind support of donors in Ilkley and surrounding areas, and supporters across the UK, the team hit their JustGiving target of £10,000. That enabled them to buy much-needed aid - such as non-perishable food, sleeping bags/mats, torches and water purification tablets for civilians and soldiers.
Added to the aid donated to the Bradford Ukrainian Society, which was taken over by the team, van loads of critical aid have been delivered to the needy.
The return trip saw the volunteers bring 3 refugee families back to our area and they, and their host families, will continue to receive their support.
A spokesperson said: "Thanks everyone for your kind support - your donations have made a huge difference."
The Pat's Party team will now turn their attention to their final summer music festival on 18th June - in an effort to make it a huge success for the community and the causes it will support.
