New Ilkley Parkinson’s Café launches in October

A new Parkinson’s Café in Ilkley is launching this October, providing a welcoming and informal space for people living with Parkinson’s, as well as their families, carers, friends and supporters.
The café will meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 2pm to 3.30pm, beginning Thursday 1 October, at Outside The Box Café on South Hawksworth Street.
The new group aims to provide a regular opportunity for people affected by Parkinson’s to meet others, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, share a piece of cake and have a chat in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Organisers say the café will be 'a place for conversation, laughter, friendship and mutual support', with a couple of tables reserved on the lower floor near the counter.
There is no need to book. Visitors are welcome to simply drop in and pay for their own refreshments at the café.
Outside The Box Café is accessible and is located close to the main car park in the centre of Ilkley.
