Residents invited to proclamation of the accession to the throne of His Majesty King Charles III


His Majesty King Charles III

A formal Proclamation of the accession to the throne of His Majesty King Charles III will be made at the Cenotaph in the Memorial Gardens, The Grove, Ilkley, at 3 pm on Sunday September 11th, 2022.


The Proclamation will be read by the Mayor of Ilkley in the presence of a Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire and civic dignitaries. It proclaims the change in monarch following the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.


Ilkley's Proclamation will follow national, county and district Proclamations in London, Leeds and Bradford; the latter at 2pm at City Hall.


All residents of Ilkley are invited to attend for this short but historic ceremony.


Residents of Ilkley are invited to pay their tributes to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.


A book of condolence is available at Ilkley Town Hall between 10am and 8pm this weekend and next week.


The book will remain open for the next few weeks and information about the times it will be available will be published.


Residents wishing to lay floral tributes will also be able do so at the Town Hall.
