Three more rail strikes planned for November

Northern are advising customers not to travel by train on Saturday 5, Monday 7 or Wednesday 9 November due to planned strike action.

A skeleton timetable for the Wharfedale Line has been announced with hourly services between 8am and 6pm with services running between Ilkley and Leeds only.

Services are also expected to be affected on Sunday 6, Tuesday 8 and Thursday 10 November.

The RMT said it would continue its industrial campaign until it reached a negotiated settlement on job security, pay and working conditions.

A spokesperson for Northern advises on strike days: “Please only travel by rail if necessary and if you do travel, expect severe disruption and plan ahead - especially the first and last trains of the day. Remember to check your entire journey as other train service providers may be affected.”

Previously a strike was announced for 3 November has been cancelled to avoid a clash with the Royal British Legion's London Poppy Day appeal.
