Yorkshire Water, what is happening behind all those blue hoardings?

Ilkley Civic Society have invited fifteen different organisations with an environmental interest, or are currently working with Yorkshire Water locally, to its next public meeting.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 26 March in Church House, Church St, Ilkley at 7.30pm.

Yorkshire Water have been working in Ilkley for over three years and their blue hoardings or fencing remain at four sites within and around the town and at Addingham. 

Ilkley Civic Society have invited Yorkshire Water to update us on what is actually happening behind these hoardings.  We know the works are central to upgrading the water quality in the River Wharfe, but how will all the new pipes, deep pits, tunnels and big underground boxes, along with the new Wetlands being constructed, achieve the long- term aims of improved water quality and reduced flooding?

Yorkshire Water will show a video they have just produced to illustrate the works and there will be an opportunity for questions and networking after the presentation.

The meeting is free and no ticket or registration is required.
