Vicar to leave All Saints Church after 6 years

After serving at All Saints’ Church in Ilkley since December 2012, Rev'd Patrick Bateman announced on Sunday that he has accepted the post of Vicar of Claygate, within the Diocese of Guildford, and will be inducted in January.

Patrick said  “It has been an honour to have been Vicar of All Saints Ilkley, it is an amazing church with so many loving and gifted people. All Saints has made good progress in realising our vision to bring greater blessing to our Ilkley community and beyond, and I pray will have an even greater impact in future.  My new role will draw heavily on my ministerial experience so far. I have learnt so many transferable skills at All Saints. I will not be leaving for three months and aim to serve faithfully during that time.

All Saints is in good hands, you have an excellent PCC. During the interregnum the Wardens will lead the church with the help of a very able team. Most importantly God will oversee all aspects of All Saints, including the selection process for your new Vicar”

Patrick is married with four children, his wife Alison is currently Headteacher of St Andrews CE Primary School in Keighley.
