Alan Titchmarsh returns to the Manor House

Ilkley Manor House are delighted that its Patron, Alan Titchmarsh, will be returning to the Manor House to officially open the Heritage Garden in June.

Funded by the Tesco Bags of Help scheme, the Friends of the Manor House have led this project with the volunteer gardening team working hard to create the beautiful new garden spaces around the Manor House.

Designed to appeal to all the senses, the garden will include fragrant, colourful flowers and herbs as well as water and sensitively created sounds. Volunteers have been busy planting out plants with interesting shapes and textures to reflect the historic nature of the house and surrounding gardens.

Everyone is welcome to the opening on Thursday 20 June.  The house and gardens will be open from 2pm - 6pm with Alan joining in around 4.30pm.

There is plenty going on at the Manor House during May and the friends newsletter just gives a flavour of the exhibitions, live performances, family-friendly activities and events hosted by the Friends of the Manor House coming up during this month. The full Summer programme will be out very shortly with full details of events and activities happening through to September.
