Glitz and Glamour at Ilkley Candlelighters Masquerade Ball

Once again a truly wonderful night was achieved at the Ilkley Candlelighters May Ball on Saturday 12 May at Rudding Park. There were 376 guests, scores of prizes and dinner and dancing to Vibetown. Moving speeches were made by Tracy Cratchley, Mum of a former patient on the Child Oncology Unit LGI and Consultant Paediatric Haematologist, Dr Beki James. Over £39,000 was raised for the unit and its work - Money for research and all those extras that help children and their families during one of the most difficult times they will ever have to face.
