Damaged caused as Christchurch is hit by lightning
A lightning strike on Thursday morning hit Christchurch on The Grove causing damage to its spire, lightning conductor and water pipes. Around 8am, the lightning strike reportedly hit the church spire and blew the lightning conductor off the side of the building. The conductor then punctured a hole in the water pipes above the toilet corridor, outside the café entrance, causing flooding. Police report increase in Ilkley outbuilding burglaries
The West Yorkshire Police Local Neighbourhood Policing Team [NPT] have issued a warning to residents following a series of shed and garage burglaries in both Ilkley and Addingham.
