A team of local estates agents has raised over £3000 by completing a 20-mile walking challenge to raise funds for Yorkshire children’s charity, The Principle Trust.
Staff from independent estate agency Tranmer White were joined by family and friends on a hike from Bolton Abbey to the village of Starbotton to raise vital funds for the Trust which provides respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues, or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.
The plucky property professionals left Bolton Abbey at 8am on Sunday 22 June, waved off by well-wishers including friends, family and staff from the Trust.
From there the group – whose ages ranged from nine to seventy - followed the route of River Wharfe through Burnsall, Appletreewick, Grassington and Kettlewell, before arriving at their finish line – The Fox and Hounds at Starbotton - shortly before 5pm.
Speaking at the finish line, Ed Tranmer, a director at Tranmer White, said,
‘We have a lot of sore feet but our team enjoyed every moment and it was for a great cause; the Trust helps disadvantaged, disabled and poorly children to escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories. We are grateful to everyone who supported us.’
