Ilkley Arts organisations launch ‘Summer in the Courtyard’

The courtyard outside Ilkley Manor House

The Ilkley Manor House Trust is joining forces with Ilkley Literature Festival, Ilkley Playhouse and a range of local organisations to produce Summer in the Courtyard, a programme of outdoor, in-person arts and culture events. There will feature performances from local artists, writers and musicians, as well as a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Sarah Thomas, Chair of the Ilkley Manor House Trust, said “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to events in the Manor House Courtyard this summer. From Shakespeare to fairy tales, and from poetry to jazz, we hope there will be something for everyone to enjoy.” The Manor House will be welcoming Lempen Puppet Theatre company back for a number of performances over the summer. Ilkley Literature Festival will be presenting their Summer Fringe Festival, with six evenings of live outdoor performances starting on Thursday 22 July and running through to Thursday 26 August, where you'll be able to see local creatives perform in a range of artforms, including poetry, music, comedy improv and spoken word. On August Bank Holiday weekend, the Ilkley Playhouse will be presenting ‘Bard in the Yard’. Performances will take place at 2pm on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August.

All events will take place in the Manor House Courtyard. Booking is required for some of the events but all events are free-to-attend. Attendees will be asked to follow health and safety regulations at the venue.
