Bradford Council has refused advertisement express consent for the internally illuminated 'Starbucks' totem sign on Wheatley Lane in Ben Rhydding.
Plans has been revised from the 9m sign, installed without permission, to 6m, but planners still refused them yesterday [Tuesday 4 November] saying it would 'not be in keeping with the immediate residential setting' and the 6m sign would 'result in an over dominating structure that would harm outlook from opposite neighbour's habitable room windows.'
The application attracted objections from residents, two Ilkley District Councillors and Ilkley Town Council.
Commenting on his Facebook page, District Cllr Andrew Loy said:
"I have already followed this up with the planning enforcement team to ask them to take swift enforcement action if Starbucks fails to take down the sign."
