The Ukrainian community from Ilkley are inviting all, friends and family, to the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine starting at the Clarke Foley Community Centre on Thursday 14th August 24.
12:00 - 16:00 - we welcome guests at the Clark Foley Centre. We will hold a few workshops (including making traditional motanka dolls and decorating gingerbread), - we will treat you with our homemade traditional cakes and pies, - listen to and watch videos with Ukrainian songs, - we will be selling our souvenirs and collect donations for the Ukrainian army
17:00 - a small concert begins in the bandstand on the Grove. Our lovely friends “Bring Me Sunshine Trio “ will play our anthem and other songs, - our Ukrainian women will also sing several songs
18:00 - we go in an organized column through the town centre to the park, where we will plant the beginning of a collection of trees as a symbol of our great gratitude to the inhabitants of Ilkley.
