Bradford Council has advised that that due to the icy weather conditions and weather warning in place, its services and facilities will continue to be disrupted tomorrow and across the weekend.
Passenger Transport Services (PTS) will not operate tomorrow {Friday 9th January).
The service runs school minibuses and taxis and a spokesperson for PTS said: "In light of the weather warnings from 17:00 today, we have made the decision not to operate Passenger Transport Services tomorrow.
"We fully appreciate the disruption this may cause, but we want to ensure everyone receives clear communication with sufficient notice, rather than waiting until the severe weather arrives. We appreciate it is difficult for families who rely on our services, but we need to ensure the safety of all service users and staff."
Updates will be posted on the council website.
Bradford Council grass pitches closed this weekend
Due to the already wet, heavy and frozen conditions, as well as the weather forecast for the weekend, Bradford Council have taken the decision to close all its grass sports pitches for this coming weekend (Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 January 2026).
It says the pitches will be inspected on Thursday 15 January 2026 and are hopeful that fixtures can return to normal next weekend.
Gritting
Council gritting crews have already been out today [Thursday] and they will be back out from this evening to grit all Priority One Routes across the district.
Patrols will be monitoring conditions from 8pm, gritting where needed overnight.
Plans will be updated as the weather moves through the district, Information about gritting including maps of gritting routes and tips for winter driving can be found on the council website.
Bin Collections
The council says its bin collection crews have been struggling to empty bins due to the icy conditions.
It says: "If your bin has been missed please leave it out and we will try to empty it as soon as possible. If you have excess waste please put it in a tied bin liner next to your bin.
"There is no need to ring us to report your bin has been missed."
Further updates to Bradford Council services can be found on the council's Facebook page.
