Iona Lane is at Ilkley Manor House on 5 May

May is a busy month at Ilkley Manor House which starts will a chance to experience the enchanting folk music of Iona Lane on Friday 5 May.


Her critically acclaimed debut album 'Hallival' draws from landscapes and stories within nature, linking unheard tales with the world today. Described as "a real talent" by Mark Radcliffe of BBC Radio 2 and "masterful" by FRUK, Iona's music features subtle touches and contemplative melodies that leave a lasting impression.

A new exhibition entitled 'Medieval Life' will open every weekend in May and June, with activities for children: healing plants, making pomanders, and smelling jars; guess the herbs.


A spokesperson said: "Ilkley Manor House invites you to step back in time and experience Medieval life at our new exhibition. From food and fashion to medicine and gardening, visitors will get a unique glimpse into the daily life of Medieval Ilkley.


The exhibition also features indoor games, outdoor trails, and courtyard activities for our younger visitors, including Medieval dressing-up every weekend.


But that's not all! We have several upcoming events that visitors won't want to miss, including talks, a Medieval fashion show, and an embroidery exhibition. Follow us on social media and visit our website for updates on these events. The exhibition runs from 6 May to 25 June and promises to be a fun and educational experience for the whole family. The Manor House will be celebrating the King’s Coronation with Family Fun on Saturday 6 May from 11am to 4pm.


Everyone is invited to join in the coronation-themed craft activities and receive a delightful goody bag. Visitors will have the opportunity to make a crown fit for a king and enjoy refreshments.
