Ilkley-based children’s author and illustrator Hannah Welch is set to host a free online webinar in partnership with UK Reads, as part of its Parent Support and Advocacy series for families.
Titled *Write Here, Right Now: Everyday Literacy for Every Family*, the session will focus on helping parents and caregivers support literacy at home in realistic, pressure-free ways. Drawing on storytelling, creativity, and everyday routines, Hannah will explore how reading can fit naturally into family life, celebrating the diversity of modern families and encouraging children to see themselves reflected in books.
Hannah is the author and illustrator of 'Some Brothers & Some Sisters', a picture book that celebrates sibling bonds across blended families, separated households, and siblings who live apart. Inspired by her own family experiences, the book champions inclusive representation and shows children that love and connection can look different for every family.
The webinar on 4th June forms part of UK Reads’ ongoing commitment to offering accessible, informative support for parents and carers navigating their child’s educational journey. Alongside practical literacy ideas, attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with other families and feel part of a wider, supportive community.

The free webinar can be booked via the UK Reads website under the Parent Support or Online Advocacy Sessions section. Places are limited and must be booked in advance.
